Make yourself a "tweet" with this craft. I read this from World Books Childcraft Volume 3: Art around Us.
This is also the idea of a member of this blog.

You need:
Powder or tempera paints
Paintbrushes
2 small Styrofoam cups
3 large Styrofoam cups
Glue
Scissors
Glue the two small cups together. Let dry.
Glue two large cups together to make the body.
Now cut the third large cup's bottom and glue to the body as a stand.
Glue the head too.
Paint the bird. Include feather strokes to make it realistic.
Some fun creative suggestions:
1. You could make a bunch of Styrofoam Birds and make an aviary!
2. Put the bird near the window. The kids will think it's a "watchout".
3. Name the bird, make some cardboard "bird food", and you have a pet!
