Here is a craft to make memories a touch more delightful.
This craft is rated **.
You will need:
Glass slides
A picture (adult, please copy to a computer for the kid)
Some colorful scrapbook paper
A pattern punch (or scissors and a careful, creative hand)
Acid-free paste
Some wire; not too thick, and that goes with its opposite
Hot glue (adult, please handle this for the kids)
Pliers
In the computer, shrink the picture to the size of the glass slide.
You can do this with Photobucket or a simple picture-editing program
Paste the tiny picture on the slide.Cut any extra edges.
Now punch the scrapbook paper into a nice pattern. Lace-pattern for wedding-pics is nice, polka dots are good for children's birthday pics.
You may also make some letters of the leftover paper, like their name or a small message.
Paste all the patterns on the picture.
Make sure your fingers don't slip the tiny patterns.
Dab tiny lines of paste on the edges of the decorated glass slide.
Sandwich it with another glass slide.
If the charm will be like a door hanger, hot glue (caution! not for the kids) the back with some wire.
If used as a necklace charm, hot glue a big drop on the upper-edge of the front and back then bend the wire each end on the glue.
Let dry for 45-60 mins. and hand to children as goodies or rewards!
