Banana Ice Cream

Yes, banana ice cream.

Quite healthier and really more special than commercial ice cream, right?

Those little monkeys would love a nice, smooth banana ice cream scoop, so don't keep 'em swinging and make them a frozen fruity treat!

Rate: *

You need:

3 ripe bananas
3 tablespoons powdered milk
3 tablespoons water
Cream
Vanilla extract
Chopped cashews (optional)
Chocolate syrup (optional)
Piece of thick caramel (optional)

Remember to wash your hands neat and tidy before doing anything else.

Slice the bananas to small circles.
Dump all of them in a blender.

Put in the powdered milk, water, cream, and vanilla extract. Blend for 4 seconds or until thick and smooth.

To make it smoother, stir by hand after blending.

Now put it in the freezer and stir every minute for 36 minutes.

Finish the delicious treat with a smothering of syrup, a spattering of cashews and a nice toppere of thick caramel.

Remember, this recipe makes four servings.
If you're making for more people, just multiply the recipe.

Announcement

Hey, guys!

I just want to share to you all that I'm currently training to make my own HTML codes, so don't get all shocked when there are fancy tech scattered 'round this blog.

Oh, and because I'll be adding a few handmade codes around here, I might change the design to a better one.

Ciao!

(P.S. If you did send a craft to me, well, sorry :,(...I can't check all of them 'coz I rarely check the email at all .)

Handmade Lip Gloss

Every girly girl has some space in this blog, because this is for every kind of kid!

Yes, handmade lip gloss.
It's special, sparkly, and scrumptious (Those are the 3s.)

Bonus: This craft is very awesome for tween girls who are all about friendship!

After you master this, concoct some delicious flavors and get into business!

Rate:**

You need:

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. of beeswax (chopped into tiny cubes)
5 drops of essential oil (or any food-flavoring oil)
Microwave-safe plastic jar or glass jar
Plastic Spoon
6 empty mint tins/ lip gloss tubes
Sticker paper (or bond paper and paste)
Printed design (optional)

Pour the vegetable oil in the jar and add the beeswax.

Put the jar in the microwave, taking it out every 20 seconds for a minute. Use a timer for this.
Or just until the beeswax is melted.

Testing the gloss is important.

Dip the plastic spoon in the hot mix, and put it on some aluminum foil and put in the freezer to cool for 1 minute.

If it is too hard or you want it to be shinier, add a little bit more of vegetable oil to the mix, stir, and repeat testing progress.

Now add some of the essential oil in the base.

If you want to make the lip gloss sparkle, sprinkle a PINCH of fine-as-sand glitter, color of choice.

Pour the mixture in the mint tins (should be clean and dry) or lip gloss tubes.

Now design a label! This is the part where you truly get creative.

Suggestions:
1. You can print a picture of a flower and put sticker letters on.
2. Doodle up a nice picture and stick felt hearts on the corners.
3. Spread glitter glue, let dry, and write a word with another color glitter glue.

Styrofoam Birds

Make yourself a "tweet" with this craft. I read this from World Books Childcraft Volume 3: Art around Us.
This is also the idea of a member of this blog.

Rate:*

You need:
Powder or tempera paints
Paintbrushes
2 small Styrofoam cups
3 large Styrofoam cups
Glue
Scissors

Glue the two small cups together. Let dry.

Glue two large cups together to make the body.

Now cut the third large cup's bottom and glue to the body as a stand.
Glue the head too.

Paint the bird. Include feather strokes to make it realistic.

Some fun creative suggestions:

1. You could make a bunch of Styrofoam Birds and make an aviary!
2. Put the bird near the window. The kids will think it's a "watchout".
3. Name the bird, make some cardboard "bird food", and you have a pet!

Decor for...Trees?

If you have read the title, you must be scratching your heads and a question mark is right above it.

Yup. Decor for Trees. It also sounded kinda coo-coo (crazy) to me too when I discovered it.

But the decorations make people know that that tree is yours (if not, then it's a friend)

Bonus: It makes the tree look...and probably FEEL, special.

This kind is the tin-can craft, because you also recycle while dressing the tree.

Rate: *

You need:
A powdered milk can
A hammer and a big nail (adult will handle)
String or rope
Paint, markers, stickers, etc. for decorating

Using the nail and hammer (for adults. ONLY), create a hole on each of the can's sides, near the lid.

Thread the string/rope through the hole and knot. Then knot. Then knot HARDER.

Decorate the can.
If you use glue and colored paper, let dry 20-25 mins.

Now hang on a branch and give your ol' tree a big hug!

Picture Perfect Charms

Here is a craft to make memories a touch more delightful.
This craft is rated **.

You will need:
Glass slides
A picture (adult, please copy to a computer for the kid)
Some colorful scrapbook paper
A pattern punch (or scissors and a careful, creative hand)
Acid-free paste
Some wire; not too thick, and that goes with its opposite
Hot glue (adult, please handle this for the kids)
Pliers

In the computer, shrink the picture to the size of the glass slide.
You can do this with Photobucket or a simple picture-editing program

Paste the tiny picture on the slide.Cut any extra edges.

Now punch the scrapbook paper into a nice pattern. Lace-pattern for wedding-pics is nice, polka dots are good for children's birthday pics.

You may also make some letters of the leftover paper, like their name or a small message.

Paste all the patterns on the picture.
Make sure your fingers don't slip the tiny patterns.

Dab tiny lines of paste on the edges of the decorated glass slide.
Sandwich it with another glass slide.

If the charm will be like a door hanger, hot glue (caution! not for the kids) the back with some wire.

If used as a necklace charm, hot glue a big drop on the upper-edge of the front and back then bend the wire each end on the glue.

Let dry for 45-60 mins. and hand to children as goodies or rewards!
